Christmas, Christmas time is here!!!

This year's Christmas is shaping up to be the best I've ever had! Not because I know I'm getting something great. (even though, I was basically told what I am getting and I am ECTSTATIC to recieve what the Hubs is giving) My girls, Kaylee in particular, have asked for 1 thing for months now. All they want is a Barbie house. Well, Santa is taking it a step further, and actually got the girls a doll house thats not necessarily a Barbie house, but it is a MASSIVE dollhouse standing taller than each of my girls.
It has been the biggest challenge to keep this thing from these wandering little eyes. So far, they haven't seen the HUGE thing under the blankets in the back of my closet. Of course Cj's nosiness has the best of him and he's found it, but as long as the ones who know what it is don't know, I think we will be just fine :)
Christmas morning will have cameras set up and ready to go with Mommy and Daddy just as excited as the girls, if not more! We can't wait to see our babies faces when they run into the living room and see this thing! There is only 1 thing that I don't like about this!! Doesn't it seem a bit unfair that we do ALL the work of putting the million pieces and million and one screws in this thing, and a big fat lazy white bearded man takes ALLLLL the credit??? Fun while they're young, but boy Santa has never been such a pain in the but lol!

My Kids say the Darndest things

Photobucket

This post is an ongoing post in progress. I thought I would keep a running blog of all the funny things my kids say. At least then everyone who reads this will see why these kids keep me laughing ALL THE TIME !!!

I threw the ball to the fence and Kaylee returned it.
" Oh my goodness! I have returned your ball my Queen !" -Kaylee

" Mama, you need to go visit your family! Go to the party, Grammy can stay with me!"-Kaylee while standing at the door telling me to leave the house so Grammy can watch her.

The reason for no more brother/sister baths " Mama, is Bubba's bird small or big? Its soooo cute!"

"Mama are you my Mama?" - Kaylee

"Mama whats your name?"- Katelyn "My name is Mama"- me " NOOOOO Your name is Uh-randa"- Katelyn

" Kaylee can you pick up your food in your kitchen?" - Me "No mama, Im a princess, YOU pick it up! Princess said so!"

Imagination Station

We all do it. We sit and watch our little ones and wonder just what is going on in their little minds. We see them thinking and the wheels are turning, and we all want to know what it is that is going on in that little head of theirs.
Since Kaylee can now speak very well, she tells me everything so I dont wonder anymore. My mouth literally drops open at some of the things she says, because sometimes I don't know where she gets it from! But my little Kaylee has an imagination like I've never seen before. She will look into an empty room and actually see something that isn't there. No, she isn't crazy, she is VERY imaginative.
One day, she walked into our living room and became very quiet. Her eyes were as wide as I had ever seen them. She stopped, turned her head to me, and with the most serious face I have ever seen on her, she said " MAMA, Loooooook! It's Dragon Mountain!!! Come into the mountain with me! We can find dragons!". Of course I went on the expedition with my little explorer and we found a big dragon! Thankfully I had Kaylee there with me because I would have never been able to slay a BIG dragon by myself! She was a knight that saved me from the monster and guided me all the way through Dragon Mountain. I don't know what I would have done without her!! :)
Days later, we were in a car!! This does'nt sound out of the ordinary, I know, but what made it extraordinary, was that we never left the couch! We buckled our seatbelts right into the couch cushions and took a trip to Grammy's house! Grammy needed some soup because she was sick and Kaylee made the soup in her new kitchen. So then, we loaded our "car" and took it to our Grammy ! We went through the forest and of course, we watched for "Swiper the Fox" to be sure he would'nt swipe the delicious soup that Kaylee made for her sick Grammy. We successfully made it to Grammy's and back home so Kaylee could enjoy her naptime.
Once in awhile, we forget to use our imagination because the "real" world consumes us. Take the time to sit back and enjoy a couch car ride. I know it will definitely take you back to a time when the world was alot simpler. There were no bills, no worries, no drama, and our biggest concern was fighting off the dragons of Dragon Mountain. Kaylee seems to be happy when she is exploring and imagining. :)

Boys will be boys

So I have this wonderful friend Kayla, who is , as she says it, "scared of girls". Lol now she says this, but it's just because she has the cutest, most wonderful little potato at home that brightens her day. He is too cute for words and with a little angel like that, who would ever want to have girls instead of a boy?? ME thats who lol! I had my two girls first, and they were a breeze. This little boy is going to bring his mama to her death!
Saturday, we were enjoying a little at home rare time with Daddy! CJ was climbing all over his Daddy, just as he always does when Corey is home. I was folding clothes sitting on our couch, and the coffee table was just full of clothes. Big Corey (as I call him at home) put little Corey standing up, in front of the coffee table. This is a normal thing since Little Corey has been walking. He just takes off as fast as he can as soon as you put him down. Little Corey lost his footing, fell, and "busted his coconut". He hit his head so hard that I could only cover my eyes. I knew this was a bad one. Then my husband picks up the baby, and starts telling me there is blood pouring from his mouth!!! Of course being Mommy, I leapt up, went directly for the sink and immediately started washing his mouth out to get an assessment of damage. Hey with a hit like that, ER was definitely in my mind! Luckily, after Daddy and Mommy held him with wet cloth and icy cold cloths, we were able to see 4 little puncture wounds in his mouth and no bump on his head. He surely made out lucky on this one!! But it just prepares me for all the stitches, and broken bones I know are to come. No matter how resiliant little ones are, I know what is coming so I have to be prepared.
My friend Kayla, it is for this reason, and this reason alone, that I tell you, you should embrace the little girls! They wont give you a heart attack!!! Well at least not until their teenage years..... Wait a minute! I suddenly realize why boys are better than girls! THE TEENAGE YEARS!!!!!! :( Lol

~Kindergarten~

Today was Katelyn's first day of Kindergarten. Now normally, I would be in tears but there was something about knowing she is going to school that brings a certain calm over me. It's more because I know she WANTS to be there. She has been asking for school all summer!
We began the day full of enthusiasm and excitement. Katelyn knew that when she woke up, she would be able to put on her brown jumper and her blue shirt. She has wanted that jumper since we got it. She says she is Princess Katey in it :) She had a big breakfast of biscuits. Yes, you may be asking how is that a big breakfast, but with Ms. Picky eater, 3 biscuits is a FEAST! After breakfast, I want the kids to be in the habit of making their beds themselves, so they eagerly went into their room, made their beds with the promise of being able to get dressed and go to school of course!
Kaylee kept asking, "Mama, if I make my bed, can I go too?". I had only one thing that I could tell her to make her happy. That was " Well Kaylee its not your turn yet, but Mama will surely have FUN with you today. " I dont know if she will consider what I have to do fun, but today we will begin learning all the sounds of our letters. My goal with her is to have her reading simple words before Pre K next year.
After the kids were all dressed, I went outside to grab our wagon for the two babies to ride in. Katelyn was so excited for the bus to finally be coming to pick her up. She was so excited that she actually was mad when the wrong bus stopped to pick her up! She ran onto the porch and pouted her little pout. But absolutely nothing could stop her from grinning ear to ear when her bus FINALLY came to get her. She didn't want a kiss. She didn't want to hold hands. My baby girl, is independent. I couldn't be a more proud mama.

My Katelyn

I was watching TV yesterday, and saw a celebrity that I really like, talking about her son who also has Autism. Since it's a subject close to my heart, I feel the need to address some of the things that this celebrity was telling the public about Autism.
Moms, please do not automatically assume that childhood vaccinations cause Autism. Though there is no known cause, I am a firm believer that childhood vaccines did NOT cause my child to be diagnosed with it. In my baby Katelyn's case, there were circumstances surrounding the pregnancy that I believe, along with many of our family members, cause Katelyn to be born with Autism.

When my girl was still in the womb, EVERYTHING was fine. I had a GREAT pregnancy. I was a great weight, did not smoke, did not drink, I ate well, and I excersized. It wasn't until I was in labor for hours and hours that we knew things weren't exactly right, but we had no clue what was going on. After an hour of pushing, I was rushed into an emergency c-section, where we found that Katelyns umbilical cord was EXTREMELY short. It was so short, the doctor could not lift her out of my belly to cut the cord. If I would have kept pushing, the cord could have been ripped and they would not have been able to get either of us to an operating room fast enough to do damage control. I thank my lucky stars everyday that the dr decided to perform a c section. It basically saved our lives.
The umbilical cord provides oxygen, and nutrition to a baby while they are still in their mother's womb. In this case, Katelyn's umbilical cord was short, so there is no way of knowing if she was getting enough oxygen or too much. All we do know is that years later, my baby was diagnosed with Autism. Of course, this is just my theory, and every parent has their own theory but just in case this helps anyone in their decision to vaccinate or not, I feel the need to share this story.
This is definitely the best peice of advice for the readers of this blog so pay careful attention to this next part. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM, IS IT EVER OK TO ASK A PARENT , ESPECIALLY IF THEIR CHILD IS SPECIAL, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER ?" I honestly have had the same government employee ask me 2 times what is wrong with Katelyn. Nothing is wrong with a child with special needs. They are the same as every other child in this world, the only difference is that God thought they were super special so he made them just a little different. I have never met another child that is more loving, friendly , and as normal as my Katelyn. She is the same as any other child, and is one of the 3 biggest blessings in my life.

PLEASE DONT BE IGNORANT!!! TREAT PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS LIKE THEY ARE NORMAL. IF YOU TREAT THEM DIFFERENTLY , YOU ARE ONLY FEEDING THOSE IGNORANT ENOUGH TO ACTUALLY THINK THERE IS "SOMETHING WRONG " WITH BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN THAT ARE JUST A LITTLE SPECIAL.

~*~ Ms. Bossy ~*~

Photobucket When my Kaylee was born in 2007, I knew she was different than Katelyn was. She had this look about her that is hard to describe, but my mother summed it up the best. Kaylee always looked as though she was looking down her nose at you. It sounds so bad, but its true. She was born with attitude. So much attitude, that I firmly believe my mother's curse of " I hope you get one JUST like you", was coming back to haunt me. Photobucket
In the beginning, just as her sister was, Kaylee was an awesome baby. Unlike Katelyn ( who had 3 hospital stays, and was at the dr every other day), Kaylee was never sick, never really cried, and was just a happy happy baby. When it was time for her to start talking, I was seriously in for some trouble! Her first words were of course, da da. But soon after that, the child DOES NOT STOP TALKING!!!! I wouldnt trade it for anything. On a daily basis, she uses the word MAAAA MAAAAA at least 500 times. Think Im exagerating? I have come up with a plan to prove it! Though I dont have the equipment just yet, I plan to follow her around the house to show everyone just how much she says mama! Photobucket
Mama isn't the only thing she says. Many sayings have come out of that little mouth that have had my jaw to the ground. My personal favorite has to be the infamous " Swiper no Bubba, Swiper no Bubba, Swiper no Bubba!"
Photobucket Yesterday, I was attempting to send Granny a video of Bubba walking, when Kaylee came in asking for a snack. It wasn't time for a snack so I told her no. Well in true Kaylee fashion, she began the "mama I want snack , mama I want snack, mama I want snack". So I, in true aggravated mommy fashion, said " No, No , No , No". My 3 year old turned to me and with a finger in Mommy's face, said " Mama, you don't tell Kaylee no! You say yes, Now get a snack!" How do you argue with that? Of course I corrected Ms. Bossy, but I couldnt help but chuckle just a little.

♥ Gracias ♥

Katelyn pigtails My life would never be the same. It was all included into one little snuggly wrapped pink bundle of joy that I gave birth to on July 6th 2005. Every mom thinks their baby is the most beautiful thing they have ever seen. But I KNEW she WAS the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. Of course, lol she does look alot like her mama :). Katelyn Marae was what we named her. She was instantly an easy baby. Only cried when she wanted or needed something, and even LOVED watching TV! Her favorite movie for the longest time was Robots. Now she is just sick of that movie lol!Katelyn and daddy
Her whole first year, she did everything perfectly. We lived in an apartment across from her aunt and cousin, who was just a year older than she was. I will never forget the first time Katelyn laughed. Mashanna (Corey's oldest sister) and Jadan (her son) were over just as they were every day. We were sitting on the couch and Jadan walked to my pantry. He opened the door. Katelyn literally BURST out with laughter! As soon as he closed the door, she erupted in laughter again! She literally was laughing everytime Jadan would open and close that door. Her laugh was so hearty and you could tell that she was just the happiest little girl !
When she was 1 we moved to Larose and stayed with Corey's parents for awhile. There, the spoiling began and Katelyn soon learned that if you want something, you have to go to Grammy. Anything she wanted, she got. Because of that Katelyn is the most picky eater that has ever walked the Earth!!! She loved living there but when she was almost 2, we moved into our own place.
Photobucket 2 months after moving in, Mommy and Daddy gave Katelyn a surprise! A new baby sister! At first she didnt realize what was going on and that Kaylee was here to stay but within a week, Katelyn was checking on her sissy even when the baby was sleeping. She would help Mommy try to feed the baby, she would watch as I changed her diapers and was very loving and caring . Thats allllll different now lol. Katelyn baby
Katelyn got another surprise a few years later. Mommy and Daddy, decided to add another runt to the mix, this time, a stinky little brother. As she did with her sissy, Katelyn was very protective and loving of her little baby brother.
PhotobucketAbout a month after the baby was born, Katelyn entered PreK where she was in Miss Lorry's class. I've never seen my baby so happy! She LOVES school and all of her teachers!Last year she went from a 25 word vocabulary to speaking full SENTENCES!!! She can write her name, and identify ALL of her classmates names when written on paper! She knows the words to songs, and LOVES singing.
Photobucket Just the other day, I was tucking my sweet girl into bed. She had been sleeping for awhile and I just pulled the covers up around her neck. In her sleep, Katleyn mumbled under her breath, " Gracias Mama ". My baby was speaking another language in her sleep! That moment made me sigh, and really made me think that no matter what the obstacle may be, in Katelyns case its Autism , but no matter what the obstacle in life may be, there is always little moments like this that give you hope for a better tomorrow. Summertime... and the Living's Easy!

Photobucket
This summer was our first go round as a whole family with 4 out of 5 birthdays being within a month of each other. IT WAS ONE FULLLL SUMMER. We started of in June, Kaylee turned 3 on the 2nd. We had her little party at her Grammy's and of course she LOVED all the attention being on her. There was family members, great food, and a pool to keep the little diva smiling all day. She wore a Dora crown that says "Birthday Girl" along with a birthday sash and Dora birthday earrings. While opening her birthday presents, her facial expression was what any parent could ask for! It was a combination of pure innocence with a burst of enthusiasm and excitement. We saved Mommy and Daddy's gift for last. It was a BIG box! She was smiling the whole time opening it! When she ripped back the happy birthday paper, there was a big picture of 2 children playing with the very same picture on the box. Kaylee's face lit up with glee! "OH WOOOOOOW!!!!!! A BOX!!! THANK YOU !!!!" After dying of laughter, Corey and I tried to explain it to her that there was a kitchen inside of the box. Of course, Kaylee being 3 now, she knows everything. " No Mommy its not a kitchen its a box!" Thank goodness for birthday cake. Wave a piece in front of any kid's face and voila!!!! Instant attention turner. Thank you sweet sugar!
Photobucket

4 days after Kaylee's birthday, we celebrated another, though my 26th birthday was really nothing worth noting lol. The subject of me getting older is not one that thrills me... next subject!
The last week in June, we decided to take a trip to Natchitoches La to see Daddy! He was working there for months and we finally were able to spend time with everybody's favorite Daddy! We took the kiddos swimming, to the "Alligator Park", and let them actually EAT alligator! They LOVED it! Kaylee left the park asking " Mommy, can we go eat Alligator now?". After a week in the hotel from hell, we headed back. We stopped in Lafayette to see Granny and Grandpa for a few minutes. I think the kids were in heaven there. All you can eat junk food along with big flat screen they can take over, and new toys! But After a long and grueling week on the road, home never looked so good.

A week after we returned, my baby boy turned 1. Things happend that were unexpected so his party was changed last minute and many family members were unable to attend. Those that didn't were really missed, but we sure did have fun with the ones that could attend! We swam, and played, and we even dressed in Saint's attire considereing the whole reason they won is because their good luck charm was born the month before the season began :). He loved ALL of his presents that he recieved but he REALLY seemed to love the one that Daddy and Mommy got him ;) What little boy wouldn't love a Buzz Lightyear 4 wheeler at 1 years old? He is already standing on the seat and riding it!
Photobucket
And of course, 4 days after that, my oldest baby, Katelyn, turned 5. WOW 5! It seems like I just had her. I literally took her from cradle to crayons and loved every step, every cry, every boo boo, every single minute of her life. We celebrated all day long as in true Princess fashion! The birthday girl wore her favorite knee length white dress with pink flowers, her sister's Dora earrings, pink stockings ( she insisted!), and white shoes. Her favorite accessory was her hat! Her wonderful teachers held a birthday party before school was out for all the children who had summer birthdays and I finally let her have her hat! No one was so excited to see it more that Katelyn. Mommy made her a princess cake that lit up, and she recieved a magic mirror for her wall, along with jewelry and of course Mommy and Daddy want her to practice for next year's tee ball, so we got her a contraption that takes a ball and suspends it in the air to help her hit! She had a wonderful birthday! My only regret is NOOOO CAMERAS!!!!! All my cameras were acting up on me so I missed the whole birthday party! :( At least I got one pic of the beautiful birthday girl!

Photobucket

So far it has been an eventful summer. All the summers to follow will only get more hectic considering within 1 month there are 4 family birthdays! Gotta love it!

The Round up Gang ... the Next Generation

My kiddos make me laugh on a daily basis. Whether it's Kaylee with her new saying "Swiper no Bubba, Swiper no Bubba, Swiper no Bubba! Awe Man!", or Katelyn with her obsession with looking in the mirror at 5 years old, I laugh all day long. But nothing had me laughing more than my son when I walked into the living room this morning. With my coffee in hand, I walked into my living room, and simply saw my baby boy, with his Woody doll, riding on his Buzz Lightyear 4 wheeler.
You might not say that this is funny, but this simple thought crossed my mind. My baby is a good friend .At 1, he already knows that when a friend needs a ride, you should be there no matter what. Sure you may say that he doesnt know this at 1, but you prove that he wasn't saving his best friend from the scariest monster in the house..... KayleeZILLA! With the forces of CJ, Woody, and Buzz's transportation services, Kayleezilla was defeated by a simple roll over the foot by Buzz!
As in Toy Story, " You should never tangle with the unstoppable duo of Woody and Buzz Lightyear! " Just add a little CJ in there and the Round Up Gang 2 is complete!
